Abstract

This article gives an assessment of the European Union's projects in the field of food policy in the South Caucasus States, and also compares it with the existing approach of the EEU to this issue in the region. EU projects are of interest, which makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of humanitarian activity for the implementation of geopolitical interests. The paper presents an assessment of the food security of the region, as well as describes the European Union's programs in the field of food policy, assesses them, and considers the geopolitical features that need to be taken into account when working in the region. The activities of the EEU and the Russian Federation in particular should be taken into account by the European Union when developing and implementing its policy. The region is undergoing disintegration processes, which are caused by differences in the foreign policy courses of all three States. Although it would be quite promising for Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to strengthen integration with the EU, the current situation in the region does not contribute to its strengthening. This, in turn, has a negative impact on the prospects for integration of the European Union and Central Asian countries, since the South Caucasus is an important geopolitical hub, where consolidation is necessary for further development. Given Russia's significant role in the EEU, further integration with the States of the South Caucasus depends on the foreign policy of the Russian Federation.
